ASTRAZENECA SECOND DOSE VACCINATION STARTS

By Chansa Kunda-Government has commenced the second round of vaccination for the Second dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine.

the first people who received the Vaccine during the first phase will receive the second dosage to boost their immune system to 98 percent.

He was speaking during the launch of the resumption of the vaccination programme at Kalingalinga Clinic in Lusaka today.

Dr. MALAMA said Government remains committed to providing more vaccines.

He said the vaccination programme for Zambia is building momentum adding that more Zambians will be vaccinated towards the end of the year.

And Ministry of Chiefs and traditional Affairs Permanent Secretary YANDE MWAPE has called on traditional leaders to encourage their subjects to get the second jab.

World Health Organization -WHO- Country Representative NATHAN BAKYAITA has encouraged Zambians to take the measures that have been recommended for COVID-19.

Dr. BAKYAITA said the health system is getting overwhelmed and that if COVID-19 measures are followed the country can stem the spread of the pandemic.

UNICEF Representative NOALA SKINNER said her organization as part of the covax facility programme brought in 2-hundred and 28-thoudand doses of the AstraZeneca Vaccine.
