ZNBC Director General Malolela Lusambo says the arts industry has massive talent and potential to contribute to the Gross Domestic Product of the country when well harnessed.

Mr Lusambo says for this to be realised people need to support the artists by buying various art works.

He was speaking during the Amaninvela album launch by Felix Tembo in Lusaka.

Mr Lusambo who is also the Felix Tembo’s Manager thanked National Council of Zambia Chairperson Patrick Samwimbila for supporting the established and upcoming artists which will enable the arts industry to grow.

Meanwhile National Arts Council of Zambia Chairperson Patrick Samwimbila called on the corporate world to support the arts industry.

Mr Samwimbila said President Edgar Lungu has greatly supported and encouraged the arts industry with various empowerment programmes such as the 30 million kwacha which is being disbursed to artists country wide.

He further urged the artists to take part in the annual presidential coral and national arts festival that president Lungu has initiated which will take place in December and will greatly empower participating artists.
