President Edgar Lungu has called for the immediate arrest of people behind the cutting down of ZESCO power supply lines in some parts of Southern Province.President Lungu has described the action as economic sabotage bent on painting the PF administration in bad light with the people of Southern Province.He says the sabotage on energy infrastructure is politically motivated.The Head of State says people with ambitions for political office are denying others in Southern Province development.He said this when he addressed journalists in Livingstone today.ZANIS reports that President Lungu wondered why area member of parliament Edgar Sing’ombe and Chief Chikanta have not spoken out against the sabotage.President Lungu stressed that nothing will stop his administration from delivering development to Southern Province just like any other part of Zambia.He said government remains committed to building roads, and other infrastructure projects.Several power supply lines put up by the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) to take electricity to Dundumwezi in Chief Chikanta have been cut down.And PF Member of the Central Committee Siacheye Madyenkuku condemned the vandalism of the electricity supply lines.Mr Madyenkuku, who was flanked by Kebby Mbewe, who is also PF member of the Central Committee, said President Lungu means well in delivering development to all parts of the country.-ZANIS Post Views: 2
