Kalomo Central Member of Parliament, HARRY KAMBONI has bemoaned the continued adverse effect of tick borne diseases on cattle in the area.

Mr KAMBONI’s concerns come in the backdrop of a combination of Corridor and Anaplasmosis diseases, which have broken out in Kalomo, with the worst affected area being Munkolo.

He however told Southern Province Minister, CORNELIUS MWEETWA, who visited Kalomo Central constituency, that 33 cattle spraying facilities are being constructed in the area.

Mr KAMBONI says the facilities are being constructed under the Constituency Development Fund -CDF-, and they are meant to contain and control the Tick Borne Diseases.

And, Mr MWEETWA said government is aware of the diseases ravaging animals and that the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will soon address the problem.

Meanwhile, ERNEST MAAMBO, a resident of Handu village, in Pemba says animals have been dying from the disease.
