AGRICULTURE STAFF WARNED AGAINST THEFT OF INPUTS

(NAIS) Agriculture Minister, REUBEN PHIRI has warned staff in his Ministry to refrain from misappropriating inputs, under the Farmer Input support Programme -FISP.

Mr PHIRI says government will not protect anyone found pilfering seed and fertiliser, meant for the rural poor.

He has added that the new dawn administration will not condone anyone found wanting as they will be instantly dismissed by the secretary to the cabinet.

Speaking in the Eastern province, when he held a meeting with Extension Officers in Chipangali district, Mr PHIRI has advised them to be transparent .

And Chipangali District Commissioner, PAUL SAKALA has emphasized the need for government to relook at the FISP beneficiary selection process to ensure that the inputs go to the intended beneficiaries.
