8 Malawi Boxers Jet In

Eight Malawian boxers have arrived in the country ahead of the two Nations Boxing tournament scheduled for OYDC- Zambia on Saturday.The Malawian contingent arrived in the country in the early hours of today ahead of the boxing extravaganza.The Zambia Boxing Federation -ZBF- General Secretary Bright Chomba says the boxers are taking part in the tournament which both countries will use to prepare for the 2020 Olympic qualifiers scheduled for Senegal.Chomba has told ZNBC Sports in an interview that the tournament is good for the boxers as it will help the coaches pinpoint loopholes ahead of the crucial tournament in Senegal slated for February 20.He said it will be an explosive tournament because the Malawian delegation has come with a very strong team that wants to mint medals afterwards.Chomba has since called on the Zambian boxers not to take the tournament lightly but ensure that they fight to make the country proud.And, Zambia Boxing National Team Coach Wisdom Mudenda said the team has regrouped and will start preparations for the tournament.
