5 Die in Road Accident

Five people have died while one has survived with injuries in a road accident which occurred in Chirundu District in Southern Province.

The accident happened this morning at EDWARDS Truck Park on the Chirundu-Kafue road when the driver of the Corolla failed to keep to his lane and his vehicle collided with the truck.

Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says the driver of the Corolla together with his four passengers, who included a two-month old baby, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Mtendere Mission Hospital.

Mr. MWALE said the driver of the truck escaped with injuries and is admitted to hospital.
