3 Nabbed For Chibolya Riot

Three people have been arrested and charged with malicious damaged to property and unlawful wounding in connection with the riot that occurred in LUSAKA’s Chibolya compound.

The three suspects are DAVID CHANDA 20, DANIEL KALUNGA and GIFT MENYA both aged 22 all of unmarked house numbers in Chibolya compound.

Police Deputy Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says suspected criminals ran amok claiming that they were revenging the death of their colleague.

In a statement availed to ZNBC News the suspects are alleged to have gone round armed with machetes targeting to loot some shops within Chibolya.

Mr MWALE said the suspects are alleged to have damaged a windscreen of one motor vehicle, a Nissan Patrol bearing registration number ABM 7601.

He says five people were hacked in the incident leaving them with multiple deep cuts on their bodies.
