29 FM TRANSMITTERS INSTALLED-ZNBC BOSS

ZNBC Director General Malolela Lusambo has disclosed that the institution has so far installed 29 FM Transmitters out of the 45 earmarked countrywide under the FM expansion program.

Mr. Lusambo, who is in Samfya in the company of the of Information and Media Minister Chushi Kasanda, notes that Samfya is unable to access ZNBC Radio one and two because the district is among the 16 remaining to have the equipment installed.

And Ms. Kasanda has assured the Media in Luapula of government’s protection.

She noted that the new dawn government will uphold its promise of granting both public and private media freedom.

The Minister further said the media plays a vital role as the fourth estate.

Meanwhile, Samfya Acting District Commissioner Lawrence Nkolonga has appealed to the Minister to consider helping the local radio station with infrastructure.

Mr. Nkolonga said Samfya only has one radio station which needs proper infrastructure.
