25,000 YOUTHS TO GET SCHOLARSHIPS

Government with support from cooperating partners plans to sponsor 25,000 youths to train in Diploma programmes in the next five years.

Youth, Sport and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU says the community skills scholarship programme will see five thousand youths sponsored every year to train in various diploma fields.

Mr. NKANDU says his ministry, working together with the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with International Coalition of Fellowships to sponsor 500 young people per province every year to train in Diploma programmes.

He has urged youths to take advantage of the programme and enroll to pursue their dream careers.

Mr. NKANDU says the programme is flexible because it will cater for both full time and part time programmes.

He says the application forms can be accessed through the District Commissioner’s office and complete application forms for 2023 academic year should be submitted latest by December 20.
