By Patricia Banda

Two thousand people die in Zambia from Tuberculosis annually.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services LUCKSON KASONKA says the situation calls for urgent action.

Professor  KASONKA however says despite the burden of TB remaining high, the country has made significant progress to reduce the infections since 2000.

He was speaking today during the COVID 19 update in LUSAKA.

And National Tuberculosis and Leprosy National Coordinator PATRICK LUNGU explained that the current data shows that most survivors of Covid-19 and those testing positive were  found to have active TB after screening from post COVID clinics.
