2 more Covid 19 patients get all clear

By Sharon Kunda-2 more covid 19 patients have tested negative twice and have since been discharged.This brings the country’s total number of recoveries to 7.Health Minister CHITALU CHILUFYA says the country has not recorded any new covid 19 cases in the last 24 hours.Speaking during the routine updates on covid 19, Dr. CHILUFYA said 1 hundred and1 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and that all the tests were negative.The Health Minister said 1 thousand 85 tests have been conducted so far.Dr. CHILUFYA said the remaining 31 covid 19 patients are stable and remain in the care of the health authorities.He said 7 thousand 3 hundred and 56 persons were classified as high risk due to travel history and that 1 thousand 6 hundred and 1 have been discharged from this number.Dr. CHILUFYA said this follows their successful completion of the 14 days mandatory quarantine.And Chief Government Spokesperson DORA SILIYA advised the public to be wary of some traditional healers claiming to have the cure for covid 19.Ms. SILIYA urged the people to continue observing instituted measures of preventing covid 19 such as social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene.Meanwhile, Barrick Gold Lumwana  Company donated an assortment of medical supplies worth 10 million Kwacha.And the National Health Research Authority donated 1 hundred and 80 thousand Kwacha including technical support through the development of a national technical covid 19 research plan.At the same event, Solar Aid donated over 1 million Kwacha worth of solar lights while Prudential Life Insurance made a donation of 25 thousand Kwacha cover to frontline workers who might contract covid 19 in the course of their duties.
