2 killed in ZAF Plane Crash

Hector Simfukwe-A Zambia Air Force -ZAF- plane flight Number AF 545 has crashed in Makunka-Sihumbwa area of Kazungula District killing two on board.

ZAF Director Public Relations and Foreign Liaison, Lieutenant Colonel HELEN CHOTA
says the accident involving the SF-260 TW light trainer aircraft happened at around 11 hours.

Colonel CHOTA says the two seater aircraft registration number AF-545 crashed approximately Thirty-Eight (38) kilometres North of HARRY MWANGA NKUMBULA International Airport.

She says the accident has claimed the lives of ZAF Livingstone Station Commander, Colonel LYSON SIAME aged 42 and Second Lieutenant KALASA BWALYA aged 27.

Colonel CHOTA says the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Batoka Mortuary, Livingstone Central Hospital.

She says ZAF has convened a Board of Inquiry to establish the cause of the air crash.
