0ver 1,000 jobs saved at Luanshya ,Baluba mines

Over 1,000 Miners scheduled for retrenchments at Luanshya Copper Mine and Baluba in Luanshya on the Copperbelt have been redeployed to other departments at the Mine.

National Union of Miners and Allied Workers -NUMAW- President SAUL SIMUJIKA has commended Luanshya Copper Mine management for serving the 1,000 jobs.

In an interview ZNBC News in Kitwe Mr SIMUJIKA has however urged management at Luanshya Copper Mines to urgently explore viable mining business ventures at Shaft Number 28 and Mashiba.

And Mr SIMUJIKA has called on the Mine to push up Production to help Government attain the 3 Million metric tonnes Copper Production target in ten years
