ZNBC,Smart Zambia Sign MOU

The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation -ZNBC- and Smart Zambia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for provision of Information Communication Technology solutions and support the development of ICT applications at the National Broadcaster.ZNBC Director General Malolela Lusambo said the MoU will enable the Corporation have a broadcast management system that will enhance efficiency in operations.Mr. Lusambo said currently various departments at the National broadcaster are working in isolation leading to financial leakages and revenue loss at the institution.He said the Smart Zambia expertise that will be provided, will enable the broadcaster to effectively carry out its mandate whilst tightening controls.And Smart Zambia National Coordinator Martine Mtonga said the MoU will change the trajectory of ZNBC as it sets out the mechanism for implementation and monitoring.Dr. Mtonga explained that the MoU will also develop products and services that foster investment in technological processes and product innovations.He said this will improve Public Broadcasting services and increase revenue generation while promoting compliance and transparency in the management of public funds.
