ZNBC PARTNERS WITH ECZ ON ELECTION COVERAGE

By Etambuyu Katota-The Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ  and  the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation – ZNBC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for coverage of election related activities and the coverage of the 2021 general election.

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Patrick Nshindano says the commission is confident that the National Broadcaster has the capacity to carry out the 2021 election coverage to the expectations of Zambians and all stakeholders.

Mr. Nshindano was speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today.

And ZNBC Director General Malolela Lusambo said both institutions have a huge responsibility ahead of the 2021 general election.

Mr. Lusambo said the national broadcaster is ready to play the role of an effective communicator.

He added that ZNBC also has a unique advantage of communicating in sign language to the persons with special needs aside the seven local languages.

Mr. Lusambo assured the commission that the production team is equal to the task and ready to provide the adequate coverage.
