Zindaba Soko walks to freedom

Former Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA Chief Executive Officer ZINDABA SOKO has walked to freedom after the state withdrew the matter.

This is where Mr SOKO was charged for forging a National Registration Card.

In this matter, Mr. SOKO, who was jointly charged with KELVIN SMITH KISAMBARA, is alleged to have forged an NRC in the name of JOHN TEMBO.

The duo is alleged to have forged the NRC between 1st January 2023 and 17 July 2023.

When the matter came up at the Lusaka Magistrates Court this morning before Senior Resident Magistrate IRENE WISHIMANGA, the state withdrew the matter pursuant to Section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Meanwhile, the case where opposition Forum for Development and Democracy President EDITH NAWAKWI is charged with kidnapping and threatening to kill PHELUNA and MILTON HATEMBO has been adjourned to 15th April for trial.

Ms. NAWAKWI appeared for mention this morning before the matter was adjourned.
