ZCCM-IH- TO ENSURE ZAMBIA BENEFITS SIGNIFICANTLY FROM NEWLY DISCOVERED MINERAL DEPOSITS AT MIGOMBA

Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holding -ZCCM-IH- Board Chairperson Kakenenwa Muyangwa says the firm will ensure that Zambia’s finite mineral resources are optimized and benefit citizens.

Discussing the details of the recent copper discovery at the Mingomba deposit by joint venture partners ZCCM-IH and Kobold Metals, Mr. Muyangwa said the discovery is well-positioned to help create new jobs and bring significant new investments into the country.

Mr Muyangwa says the mineral resource will also make a major contribution towards Zambia’s goal of increasing copper production to 3 million metric tonnes a year.

And Kobold Metals Africa Chief Executive Officer Mfikeyi Makayi promised to develop the Mingomba Mine faster than earlier expected.
