Sensational Zanaco General Manager Marlon Kananda says Zanaco Football Club will take the 2019 ABSA Cup with the seriousness it deserves.
The bankers will face Choma based outfit Green Eagles and Kananda is aware of the big task that awaits his team. The ZANACO CEO revealed that his team will do the talking on the pitch but will give Eagles the respect they deserve.
” We take each and every Competition seriously regardless of which competition we are playing in. Regarding us not winning our Stream despite us being disappointed we are not so disappointed because we know we had some issues here and there. Going into ABSA Cup we will are playing a team that won Stream A, They have been playing well and we will accord them the respect they deserve and basically do our talking on the pitch, ” He said.
Kananda confirmed that preparations were going on well and that the technical bench was doing everything possible to make sure Zanaco qualify to the final.
” We continue preparing for the game. When going into a game you prepare according to a team that you are going to face. So far so good. The Technical bench is putting things in place to make sure we reach the finals. Like I said earlier we will not take away anything from Green Eagles and the good performances they have had in Stream B and we will take the game as it comes,” He said.
Kananda was also quick to praise the banker’s fans for their fantastic loyalty in the just ended Super League season. He went on to ask the fans to come in numbers and paint Nkoloma Stadium red.
“Soccer fans are an important factor in football and they play an important role they should come in numbers. I give kudos to Zanaco fans, I think in the transitional season they have been amazing, They followed the team, We have been growing and bought replica jerseys which is what we want in our football,” He said.
“In my case, I will encourage Zanaco fans to paint the Stadium red so that we show that we are one just like our moto Zanaco we are one when it comes to Supporting our team,” He added.
