Zambia,Tanzania Sign 8 MOUs

Zambia and Tanzania have signed eight Memoranda of Understanding -MoU’s- to strengthen bilateral and trade corporation.

Foreign Affairs Minister STANELY KAKUBO and Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East Africa Cooperation JANUARY MAKAMBA signed 6 MoU’s on behalf of the two countries.

Zambia Development Agency -ZDA- Director General ALBERT HALWAMPA and Tanzanian Trade and Development Authority Executive Director GILEAD TERI signed the other two MoU’s.

Among the MoU’s signed by Mr. KAKUBO and his counterpart Mr. TERI is one meant to plan for the development of “a natural gas export pipeline from Tanzania to Zambia to ensure regional energy security and industrialization.

The two Ministers further signed an MoU under the Ministry of Technology and Science, aimed at promoting cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

The two also signed four MoU’s under Zambia’s Ministry of Defence and Tanzania’s National Service.

The MoU’s under Defence further seek to promote exchange of Officer Cadets at the Military Academies of the parties as well as medical services based on mutual understanding and benefit.

Zambia Development Agency -ZDA- Director General ALBERT HALWAMPA and Tanzanian Trade and Development Authority signed two MoU’s to promote and strengthen trade relations between public and private sector institutions and operators.

The other MoU signed by ZDA and its Tanzanian sister agency covers cooperation in investment promotion, including exchange of investment related information.

The Memoranda of Understanding were signed today at State House witnessed by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and Tanzanian President SAMIA SULUHU HASAAN.
