Lands Minister Jean Kapata says there is need to restore forests because they are critical to achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Ms. Kapata says forests contribute to a greener economic growth.

She says forests also promote economic activities for wealth and job creation and make a real impact on climate change.

Ms. Kapata was speaking during the launch of the International Day of Forests on ZNBC TV.

This year’s International Day of Forests will be held under the theme “Forest restoration, a path to recovery and wellbeing”.
