Zambian youths urged to start writing books

Senior Chief MUKUNI’s wife, VERONICA has encouraged Zambian youths to start writing books.

Mrs. MUKUNI notes with sadness that some books being used in literature in English in schools are from West Africa.

She says it is high time Zambian writers authored books that can replace the foreign books, so that pupils can read and be tested on books that they can easily relate to.

The Toka Leya Queen said this at the Authorship and Career Network book launch, where five books, among them two authored by pupils at St. Mary’s School in Livingstone were launched.
