ZAMBIAN DRUMS IN AMERICA

Video of a North American playing five traditional Zambian drums has gone viral on many social media platforms.

And a visiting international artist, in Livingstone, has advised Zambians to take keen interest in developing their indigenous art in order to grow the country’s art industry.

VICTOR MANGENG, from Austria says Zambia has a lot of potential to be a shining star in art but that a lot needs to be done to grow the sector.

He says his cultural exchange programme in Livingstone has exposed him to unique African art, which he says if well-developed can benefit Zambia.

And Livingstone artist, LAWRENCE YOMBWE, says cultural exchange programmes have the potential to boost tourism if well harnessed.
