Zambian diplomat based at African Union dies

A ZAMBIAN Diplomat based at African Union, Mrs. Linda Siamanjime- Ramokate has died.
Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba has confirmed the sad development.
He said Mrs. Siamanjime -Ramokate died of a suspected Asthma attack on Sunday morning.
He said initial reports indicated that she was struggling to breath and sought the help of a neighbour, who helped rush her to the African Union Clinic but doctors said she was brought in dead.
Mr. Mwamba said Mrs. Siamanjime-Ramokta recently joined the African Union as a Political Analyst and Mediation Expert in the Peace and Security Department and reported for work in Addis Ababa three (3) weeks ago.
Mr. Mwamba said he was deeply saddened by the untimely death of Mrs. Siamanjime-Ramokate
He said he remembered that Mrs. Siamanjime-Ramokate joined the Zambian Community based in Addis Ababa in observing the Day of National Prayer, Fasting &Reconciliation, four days after her arrival in Addis Ababa.
She took up her new position at the AU after she served at the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone, Bostwana.
Mr. Mwamba has expressed his deep condolences to the husband who is based in Gaborone, to her family in Zambia and to His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamati, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
Details of the repatriation of the body will be communicated later.
This is according to a press statement issued by Mrs. Inutu Mupango Mwanza, First Secretary (Press & Public Relations) at the Zambian Embassy in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia.
