ZAMBIA WOULD STILL SURVIVE EVEN IF IT FAILS TO SEAL THE IMF RESTRUCTURAL PLAN-KABWITA

By Chileshe Mwango

Economist Noel Kabwita has charged that Zambia would still survive even if the country fails to clinch the International Monetary Fund –IMF- restructural plan.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Kabwita has since advised government to start looking elsewhere for financial assistance other than the IMF especially now that the country is preparing for the 2023 national budget.

Mr. Kabwita says what the country can do is look within its available resources even without the IMF and devise plans that can revive the economy.

He says as the situation currently stands, it is not guaranteed as to whether the IMF will give Zambia the much awaited bailout package hence the need for government to start planning beyond that.
