Zambia U17 Arrive in Mauritius for Cosafa

The Zambia Under-17 national team has arrived in Mauritius ahead of the 2018 Cosafa Castle Cup.

Tenant Chilumba’s side arrived at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at 03:15 hours local time (01:15 hours Zambian time).

The team travelled aboard Kenya Airways and is accommodated at the Casa Florida Hotel in Perebere.
Zambia is in Group B alongside South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique.

The defending champions will open its title defence on Friday against Mozambique at the Francois Xavier Stadium.

Prior to departure the team underwent the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at the Italian Orthopaedic Hospital in Lusaka.

Winners of the 2018 Cosafa Castle Cup will automatically qualify to the Tanzania 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which is a precursor the Peru FIFA U17 World Cup.

The tournament runs from July 19-29.
