Zambia to start making motor vehicle batteries

Over 2,000 jobs will be created for Zambians next year by Better Technology Group, a Chinese company that will start manufacturing motor vehicle batteries at the Jiangxi Multi Facility Economic Zone in Chibombo District.

Company President POLLY WEI says the manufacturing of car batteries will start by May , 2024.

Ms. POLLY says the equipment to fit into the manufacturing plant will be delivered in the Country by December, 2023 and installation is expected to be complete by March 2024.

She says the group of companies will manufacture car batteries, power storage battery and uninterruptible power supply -UPS- batteries.

Ms. POLLY further says the Company will invest one hundred million United States dollars in the next three years.

She was speaking when Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for finance and Economic Development SIAZONGO SIAKALENGE toured the Jiangxi Multi Facility Economic Zone.
