Zambia to Register 5th Largest GDP in Southern Africa-IMF

 

Zambia’s Gross Domestic Product or GDP will be the fifth largest in Southern Africa this year.

According to the International Monetary Fund 2024 GDP projections for all African countries, Zambia is expected to register a 31 billion dollar GDP.

South Africa’s GDP is projected to be 401 billion dollars, making it the largest economy on the continent followed by Nigeria at 395 billion dollars.

In second place in the Southern African region is ANGOLA with a projected GDP of 98 billion dollars and Tanzania is in third place at 86 billion dollars followed by Zimbabwe with 47 billion dollar GDP.

Zambia is fifth in the region with a GDP of 31 billion dollars.

Only three other countries on the continent are expected to register a GDP of between 100 and 200 billion dollars and these are Kenya, Morocco and Ethiopia.

All the other countries are expected to register a GDP lower than 100 billion dollars.
