Zambia to Host World Skills Africa Competition

Zambia has won the bid to host the World Skills Africa Competition and conference that will be held in Livingstone in April next year.

In preparation for the competition, the Ministry of Technology and Science in collaboration with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority TEVETA has launched the World Skills – Zambia Competition in preparation for the Event.

Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary, BRILLIANT HABEENZU revealed this during the opening of the Zambia regional skills competition at Lusaka Business and Technical College.

Dr HABEENZU noted that the regional skills competition is a platform that will showcase the extraordinary talents and capabilities of young people, who are the backbone of society in diverse fields, which include technology, craftsmanship, hospitality and healthcare.

TEVETA Director General CLEOPHAS TAKAIZA said the World Skills Competition will promote innovation and excellence among students and training providers in the country.
