Zambian Ambassador to Belgium, Professor Esther Nkandu says Zambia is focusing on ways of increasing trade with other countries.

Professor Nkandu says this is why the country is ensuring it promotes value addition on products that are entering the European Commission and other countries.

Professor Nkandu said this when she presented her letters of credence to the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen.

She said her vision is to strengthen bilateral relations between Zambia and the European Commission.

And President of the European Commission, Von Der Leyen said Zambia’s trade aspiration are in line with the vision for the Commission.

Professor Nkandu is among the first Ambassadors to present credentials to Ms Von Der Leyen since she took office as President of the Commission on 1st December 2019.

This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by First Secretary for Press and Public Relations at the Zambian Embassy in Brussels-Belgium Phyllis Chilekwa .
