Zambia to benefit from $100 million FAO, AfDB fund

THE Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and African Development Bank (AfDB) have partnered to raise up to US$100 million over the next five years to support agriculture in Zambia and other African countries.
The collaborative programme will be created through an initial financial contribution of up to US$15 million by the two institutions.
Recent collaboration between FAO and the bank includes feasibility studies for agricultural transformation centres in Zambia, Tanzania and Ivory Coast and the participation in the African Leaders for Nutrition initiative, among others.
According to a statement by FAO, the partnership will help boost joint efforts aimed at catalysing agriculture sector investments in Africa to end hunger, malnutrition and increase prosperity throughout the continent.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
