By Chansa Kunda

The Football Association of Zambia –FAZ- has disclosed that the Super League will go on recess during the Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off next month.

FAZ General Secretary REUBEN KAMANGA says the decision has been made in consultation with the Zambian Premier League.

KAMANGA says the parties have taken into consideration various aspects among them is that some players will be away on national duty and it will be important to allow fans to follow the tournament with undivided attention.

He says the mid-season recess will run from January 15 to February 12, 2024.

KAMANGA says the continuation of the league will not affect the Week 17 mid-season cap for qualified teams for the 2024 ABSA Cup.

The Africa Cup of Nations –AFCON- will kick off on the 13th of January 2024.

This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC Sports News by FAZ Communications Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA.
