Zambia set to host swimming tourney

Chansa Kunda-Zambia will next month host the CANA Zone Four swimming Championship with 14 countries set to participate.

The Zone Four Championship will run from April 14 to 18 2022.

And the Zambia Swimming Union- ZASU- says the country will host two categories under the competition, swimming and the open water swimming to be conducted on a Lake.

ZASU- General Secretary SOPHIE PEACH says the Zone will be third major Championship that Zambia will be hosting after the Zone Six and Africa Junior Championships that were held in the country.

PEACH told ZNBC Sports News that among the 14 countries taking part in the event will be South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, Botswana and Madagascar among others.

She has since disclosed that the Association will this weekend host the Zambia National Swimming competition to select the national team.

PEACH said the event will be held at the OYDC-Zambia Youth Development Center Olympic swimming pool which will be one of the venues to be used for the Regional competition.

He said 40 Athletes have been selected under the preliminary phase but will have to fight for the final slots in the National team this weekend.
