Zambia records 118 new Covid cases

Mwila Nsofu-Zambia has recorded 1-hundred and 18 new confirmed COVID-19 cases out of 3,580 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health update, this cumulatively brings to 211,077 confirmed cases in Zambia.

One new Covid-19 associated death was also been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Currently there are 737 active cases with 16 admitted to COVID-19 Health facilities, while 721 are being managed in the community.

In the last 24 hrs, the country had 5 new admissions.

Yesterday, Zambia recorded EIGHT more cases of Omicron, the new Covid-19 variant.

Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO said international travel remains the common risk factor.

Ms. MASEBO called on ZAMBIANS to continue to adhere to the COVID -19 regulations.
