Zambia has been given a grant worth $145,000 from the Adaptation Fund to facilitate the accreditation of Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank to the fund for climate change projects.

The grant will help strengthen the capacity to access climate adaptation finance and the overall capacity to develop and initiate the implementation of concrete projects and programmes.

The nomination of Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank for accreditation as a National Implementing Entity will also increase chances to access climate financing from the Adaptation Fund.

Ministry of Green Economy and Environment Permanent Secretary JOHN MSIMUKO has welcomed the Adaptation Fund’s grant of support to Zambia.

Mr. MSIMUKO says the support includes among others, updating manual of internal procedures and developing documents such as Code of Ethics and the Transparency Policy, among others.

This is according to a statement issued by Ministry of Green Economy and Environment Spokesperson CHIBAULA SILWAMBA.
