Zambia gets seven individual slots for 2023 Commonwealth youth games

Zambia has been allocated seven slots for individual sports ahead of the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

National Olympic Committee of Zambia -NOCZ -Secretary General BONIFACE KAMBIKAMBI says the country will be taking part in Athletics, Swimming and Cycling.

KAMBIKAMBI however says the number of Athletes is likely to increase should Zambia be given more slots among team sports.

He says if the International Federation decides to consider giving Zambia more slots, the country will also have representatives in the Rugby Seven’s Men and Women, Beach Volleyball and Netball.

He says final verdict on the team sport selection will be given on the 27th of January 2023.

KAMBIKAMBI says the NOCZ Zambia has since written to Sports Associations to provide details on the Athletes who will travel for the games.

The Commonwealth Youth games will run from 4th to 11th August, 2023.
