ZACA DESCRIBES CURRENT ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT UNFAVORABLE FOR CONSUMERS

By Tinkerbel Mwila

The Zambia Consumer Association –ZACA- says the economic environment in the country is still not favorable for consumers despite the current economic recovery.

ZACA Executive Secretary Juba Sakala explains that the external economic factors that influence buying habits of consumers and businesses have been affected by income stagnation.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Sakala is of the view that consumers are struggling to make ends meet while most consumers’ incomes have dwindled leaving them with limited disposable income.
Mr. Sakala has also noted that demand for goods and services have reduced following the soaring cost of living.
