Young Scorchers off to Lusaka ahead of Young Copper Queens clash

Malawi U-20 Women’s National Team 20-member squad led by Head Coach Maggie Chombo Sadik has left Lilongwe for Lusaka ahead of Friday’s (24th September 2021) Costa Rica 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier second round first leg match against Zambia slated for Nkoloma Stadium at 15:00hrs.

The Young Copper Queens will then travel to Lilongwe on 9th October 2021 for the return match set for Bingu National Stadium.

The last meeting between Zambia and Malawi was last year in January in an International Friendly match played at Sunset Stadium and it was the Young Queens who won that particular game 1-0 courtesy of BUSA Queens Salome Phiri’s 72nd-minute goal.

The winner of this tie will face Ghana in the next round of qualifiers after Mauritania pulled out.
