“WW1 MEMORIAL REMINDER TO THE WORLD”

Zambia Tourism Agency Board Chairperson Peter Jones says the world war one memorial parade to be held in Mbala on November 25 is meant to remind the world that the First World War ended in Zambia.
Mr. Jones says it is high time Zambia took advantage of the one hundred years since the war ended and remind the world of the true history of the First World War.
He says the whole world needs to know that the First World War ended in Zambia and not in Europe as the current documented history suggests.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jones says the annual memorial parade that is held in Livingstone will go ahead on November 11 at the police and the Victoria Falls cenotaphs simultaneously.
And Livingstone Tourism Association Chairperson Rodney Sikumba says time has come for Zambia to rewrite its history and present it to the rest of the world.
Mr. Sikumba says there are many great things that Zambia has achieved but have not been documented or recognized by the rest of the world.
He has since urged Livingstone residents to turnout in large numbers to be part of the memorial events in the tourist capital.
