World Bank Gives REA $7m

By Patricia Banda- The World Bank has committed seven million Dollars to the Rural Electrification Authority aimed at increasing access to electricity in rural areas.Rural Electrification Authority Director Technical Services Patrick Mubanga says the Bank has so far released three million dollars.Mr Mubanga says the 4.5 million Dollars is going towards subsides of power.He told ZNBC news in an interview that the cost of the whole project is estimated at 26 million Dollars for various components under Electricity Service Access Project -ESAP.Mr Mubanga that ESAP is a five-year project that started in September 2018, to be implemented in nine provinces except for Lusaka.
