Women’s Super League: Zesco Ndola girls out to extend their lead as Elite Ladies welcome Nkwazi Queens

With the first round of action already done in the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League, this weekend will see a mouthwatering start to return matches across the country as title-chasing side Lusaka Dynamos will host Nkwazi in a game of the weekend while log leaders ZESCO Ndola Girls will lock horns with Queens Academy in a rescheduled Match Week 7 encounter that will be beamed live on ZNBC TV3 and televised on Top Star Decoders.

Lusaka Dynamos will host Nkwazi Queens at NASDEC Sports Complex which is one of the interesting matches to look out for this weekend.

The first leg ended 2-0 in favor of The Elite Ladies and they will be hoping to record a double over an inconsistent High Flying Nkwazi side that has failed to produce the much desired positive results in the first round.

Dynamos are currently occupying 3rd position on the log standings with 21 points from 11 games played while Nkwazi is 10th with 11 points from 11 games going into this fixture.

This match will kick off at 10:00hrs.

Log leaders ZESCO Ndola Girls will be hoping to extend their lead at the summit of the table when they visit Queens Academy in a rescheduled Week 7 encounter at President Stadium in Kabwe.

With this match expected to be beamed live by the National Broadcaster, ZNBC TV and televised on Top Star Decoders, Zegalicious will have all to play for because a win will send them to a comfortable position with 2 games in hand.

On the other side, Queens Academy who are 10 points behind ZESCO and will hope to rise to the occasion and pull out a surprise result in this lunchtime kick-off set for 13:00hrs.

Queens are going into this match having lost by a goal to nil away to INDENI Roses while ZESCO was scheduled to take on Nkana who forfeited the match with a 3-nil result in favor of ZESCO.

Elsewhere in Ndola, Indeni Roses will welcome Bauleni United Sports Academy at Indeni Sports Complex in a tricky tie that will kick off at 13:00hrs.

The reverse fixture produced an excellent match with the Roses grabbing maximum points courtesy of goals from Esther Namukwasa and Noria Sosala who are not part of the team as they are in camp with the senior women’s team preparing for the Olympics so only Grace Kamanga is expected to lead the Roses who will have to find other means to collect a positive result against a Stubborn BUSA side.

On the other hand, BUSA Queens who are known as Giant Killers have been impressive in their last 4 games so the girls are bubbling with confidence and they know very well what is at stake in this match and they will hope to rise to the occasion in this game which is their second visit to Ndola with the previous visit not ending too well after they suffered a defeat to ZESCO.

The Roses are in 2nd position with 23 points from 12 games played, 8 points better than BUSA who have played 10 games.

Match Week 14 will continue on Sunday 6th June 2021 with only one match expected to be played involving Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club against National Assembly at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium.

This will be the 3rd meeting between these two sides, Assembly won the first match 3-1 which was in the FAZ Women’s Provincial League, the two yet again met in the Women’s Super League after they made late entries and they shared spoils with a 1-1 scoreline at Showgrounds.

ZISD had a very difficult first round in this campaign managing only 2 wins and 2 draws and have 8 points to their name while Assembly has been draw specialists with the highest number of draws in the league which is 7 and only 2 victories and have 13 points from 12 games played.

So there are so many expectations in this fixture as all Roads will lead to Independence Stadium with kick-off set for 15:00hrs.
