Women’s National League back in action with two mouth-watering encounters

By Moses Mwanza | August 13, 2021

After almost a month of no league games due to the suspension of matches as a result of allowing the Copper Queens participation in the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan, the inaugural FAZ Women’s Super League returns to action tomorrow with two mouthwatering match week 9 catch-up fixtures expected to take center stage in the capital city Lusaka.

Second placed on the log standing Lusaka Dynamos Ladies Football Club welcome six times provincial champions Green Buffaloes Women Football Club at NASDEC Sports Complex while Red Arrows entertain YASA Queens at Nkoloma Stadium with both matches set to kick-off at 10:00hrs.

The last meeting between The Elite Ladies and The Green Army Ladies was earlier this year in February during the inaugural of the 2021 Barbara Banda Foundation and BUSA Women’s Challenge Cup match in which Buffaloes edged Dynamos 4-1 with goals courtesy of Clara Bwalya, Lucy Kajiya, Jackline Masenke and Ethel Chama while Eunice Namfukwe scored the consolation goal for The Elite.

In the other match, the last meeting between Red Arrows and Stubborn YASA ended 1-0 in favor of the Air Ladies in May 2019 with Grace Chanda scoring the only goal of the match played at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium so there’s a lot expected from tomorrow’s catch-up match Week 9 fixtures.
