WOMEN SHOULD HELP MITIGATE CLIMATE CHANGE

By Justin Akakulubelwa

Tourism Minister, RODNEY SIKUMBA has implored women to help fight and mitigate climate change.

Mr. SIKUMBA says this is because women are increasingly becoming more vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

Speaking in Livingstone, during the commemoration of Women’s Day, Mr. SIKUMBA said the Tourist Capital has not been spared from the effects climate change.

He said women farmers, in particular, have been adversely affected by climate change.

Mr. SIKUMBA has further advised women to take advantage of the empowerment initiatives that the government has put in place in various ministries, to venture into businesses that are friendly to the environment.

And Livingstone women representative, MAINGA DUBEKA-MATAMWANDI has challenged women to lift each other and be very practical in whatever they do.
