We played better than Napsa Stars, We have a chance to win in Zambia- Gor Mahia Coach

Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup NAPSA Stars this afternoon recorded a hard-fought 1-nil victory over Kenya’s Champions Go Mahia in the CAF Confederations Cup Pre-group stage game played in Nairobi at Nyayo National Stadium thanks to Daniel Adoko’s only goal of the match.

However, despite this loss, Go Mahia Head Coach Carlos Vas Pinto is very much optimistic that his side will overturn the 1-nil defeat they have suffered at the hands of The Pensioners.

Speaking in an interview after the match, Pinto said his side has a chance to win when they travel to Zambia for the return match this weekend because he feels his side has an opportunity to make it to the group stage of the competition.

“We played better than NAPSA, we created a lot of chances but failed to score, but anything can happen. We still have one game to play. They have beaten us at home but we can beat NAPSA in Zambia” Pinto speaking.

The K’Ogalo gaffer believes his lads will do better because he thinks if NAPSA can defeat them at their home ground they too can win away from home.

“I think we can do better, we have a chance to win in Zambia, because if they can win here we can also do the same on that side. They may want to play a defensive game because of the lead but if we score there we will qualify to the group stage,” he added.

An 86th-minute goal from Daniel Adoko was the only difference between Go Mahia and NAPSA Stars as The Pensioners picked up a vital point going into the return match slated for National Heroes Stadium on the 21st February 2021.

The overall aggregate winner between these two sides will qualify to the CAF Confederations Cup Group Stages.
