We need more wins – Chiyangi

Green Eagles recorded their eleventh draw of the season as they played to a 1-1 draw with the Pensioners Napsa Stars at the Choma’s Independence stadium.

The match started on a good note as the hosts Green Eagles were awarded a penalty in the first 40 seconds of the match only for Shadreck Mulungwe to miss by hitting the upper right post.

Jacob Ngulube opened the scores in the 27th minute giving Napsa the lead into the break, Eagles only managed to pull one back in the 79th minute courtesy of a Hosea Silwimba goal to end the match 1-1.

Speaking to the ZAMFOOT crew in a post-match conference the Kawale boys gaffer Aggrey Chiyangi said his side needs more winnings though the only thing which makes difference in football is goals.

“We need more of winnings and if you see the performance of the team I think they are trying to push hard the only thing is that in football what makes the difference is the goals and especially when you get a chance like a penalty you have to make sure that you finish it because playing Napsa or other big teams the chances you create are minimal so if you get a chance like a penalty you have to make sure you score but otherwise the team is pushing the only thing is that Napsa came prepared and they played a good game,” he said.

With two days remaining before the closure of the transfer window coach Chiyangi said his team needs players better than his current squad.

” We can talk about players now, but you see the quality what we want is someone who is going to play better than the ones which we have, we don’t want to get someone who is average and we start building again because it’s better for us to work with the same strikers that we have than to get someone and start working on them, we need a striker who is ready to come and perform,” he added.

Green Eagles’ next assignment is away on Wednesday against the big buyers Lusaka Dynamos and tactician Chiyangi said his team is focusing on the next game alluding to the fact that it will be a tough game and he is just hoping his players will recover as soon as possible for the clash.
