Zambia national team midfielder Clatous Chota Chama says the Copper Bullets are targeting beating the reigning African Champions, Algeria in tomorrow’s Cameroon 2021 AFCON qualifier.

Chama has disputed claims of the Chipolopolo Boys feeling intimidated playing a star-studded Algeria side saying it will be eleven players facing another eleven players.

“We are also stars on our side. They are African champions, they will also have to play the game to have a chance of qualifying. We are looking forward to beating them to enhance our qualification chances to the AFCON,” Chama said.

Both teams will have 11 in-field players, so we are up for the challenge and not intimidated by anything.

Chama went to call on the fans to rally behind the team as they target good results.

“Although our fans won’t be here (Algeria), we expect that most of them will be watching the game. I will ask that they support the team and keep the faith,” he said.

“We need their support whether they criticize or offer opinions at the end of the day we need good results for the country.”

Zambia plays Algeria in Blida on tomorrow before hosting Zimbabwe on Tuesday at National Heroes Stadium in back-to-back Cameroon 2021 qualifiers.
