VUMBWI GOES TO THE POLLS

By Christopher Miti- Vubwi residents are voting in a council chairperson by-election amid strict adherence to COVID-19  guidelines.

A check by ZNBC News found that all the polling stations are only allowing voters with masks.

Buckets, soap and sanitizers have also been placed on the entrance of each polling station in the district.

A check at Vubwi Primary School, Chipanje Primary School and Mboozi Primary School polling stations found most people on the queues waiting to cast their votes.

District Electoral officer Robert Mlauzi said over 18 thousand voters from the old register are expected to participate in the by-lection.

The by election was caused as a result of the death of Joshua Daka last year in December.

PF is fielding Vincent Mwale, UPND has Given Sakala while MMD is fielding Faindani Mbewe.
