VOTING UPDATE

Mansa District in Luapula Province has recorded over 50 percent voter turnout during today’s general election.

Mansa District Electoral Officer SOMBO KAELA has told ZNBC News that the huge turnout in all the 189 Polling Stations in Bahati and Mansa Central Constituency is impressive.

Ms KAELA says the voting was peaceful as electoral Officers did not record any incidence of violence in the district.

Meanwhile, local and international monitors traversed the district monitoring how the election went.

KITWE

Meanwhile, from the hub of the Copperbelt Kitwe, TAMARA MUSWALA reports that Long queues characterized most polling stations as early as 02 hours this morning.

And the voters talked to described the mood as peaceful.

CHILANGA 

The District Electoral Officer in Chilanga has attributed the high turnout of electorates to voter education.

JUDITH BEENE, who is also Chilanga Council Secretary, says each polling station was seeing over eight hundred people.

She said all the ninety polling stations in Chilanga District opened on time.

HH VOTES

Meanwhile United Party for National Development (UPND) leader HAKAINDE HICHILEMA cast his vote at Lusaka’s Kabulonga Boys Secondary School.

Mr. HICHILEMA, however, expressed concern on the slow pace of processing of voters at the polling stations.
