VOTING UNDERWAY IN KAUMBWE

Voting is taking place in KAUMBWE Constituency of PETAUKE District.

Voting officially opened at exactly 06:00hours in the polling stations.

At KALASAWU Baptist Polling Station, Presiding Officer BOYD KASILIKA declared the station open for the polls at exactly 06:00hours.

A ZNBC news Crew has witnessed a relative high turnout in most of the polling stations.

On the other hand PETAUKE Town Council Secretary Bishop BOYD KAFULA has described the voting environment in KAUMBWE Constituency as generally peaceful.

And one of the voters at MWANJABANTU Polling Station MOSES BANDA expressed happiness with the peaceful environment in the area.

Another voter DICKSON LUNGU said he is delighted people in the area have turned out to exercise their democratic right.

Seven candidates are contesting the seat with ESNART SAKALA standing on the ruling UPND, AARON MWANZA PF, WILBASE TEMBO on the Democratic Party and MASAUSO DAKA standing on the Socialist Party.

Others are CHARLES NYANOKA of Party for National Unity and Progress and two independent candidates namely YUNIKE MWALE and LISTED TEMBO who was MP in the area under the PF.
