Only 143 out of 600 Veterinary surgeons in Zambia have registered and renewed their practicing licenses this year.

And, 244 Veterinary para-professionals out of 2,000 have registered this year.

Veterinary Council of Zambia Registrar, SIMAKECHULA CHIKUNI says the Council has noted a low response to registration and renewal of practicing licenses this year.

Dr CHIKUNI told ZNBC News that it is the responsibility of every employer to ensure all officers employed are registered and licenced by the council.

He has also added that all veterinary and veterinary para-professionals whether in the public or private sector should register or renew their licenses by 3rd MARCH 2023.
